Have you ever wondered what causes the thunder and lightning in a rainstorm? Is there a reason to be afraid? The charming religious- themed children's story, Above the Clouds: What Really Happens in Heaven During a Thunderstorm by Stephanie Barton, Carley Barton, and Sue Milon, eliminates the fear surrounding storms. Frightened when a storm wakes her from her sleep, Grace calls out to her mother to come and comfort her. With the thunder and lightning shattering the night around them, Grace's mother explains how the storm is nothing more than angels having a party in heaven. While the DJ Joy is playing loud music, the angels are dancing and stomping the night away. They are enjoying the party so much that their joy can be seen and heard here on earth. The lightning, thunder, and rain are only a manifestation of their celebration. Can Grace accept her mother's explanation? Do angels really dance in heaven?
Above the Clouds: What Really Happens in Heaven During a Thunderstorm by Stephanie Barton, Carley Barton, and Sue Milon is a delightful children's book with a religious theme. Beautifully illustrated, the pictures create a perfect complement to an enchanting story. I fell in love with the story from page one; the portrayal of the angels dancing and taking selfies was amusing and disarming, and the sweet, simple explanation of what makes a storm is soothing and cute. The collaboration of authors and artist is a match made in heaven. Superbly written, comforting, and adorable, this fabulous story will charm children of all ages.
When the thunder starts to rumble and the lightning is flashing, children cringe and even beloved pets begin to whimper. No need to fear little ones, it's just the angels above enjoying a rollicking party. Thank you to the authors for a lovely story that will soothe the fears of young and old alike when a thunderstorm is rocking and rolling. The wonderful illustrations bring their words to life on the pages. This book belongs on the home library shelves of every family with children and pets who fear the darkening skies. I'm happy to own an autographed copy!

This truly delightful book addresses the fear that many children experience during thunderstorms. Each of the sounds and sights of the storm was cleverly explained to Grace by her mother to calm her. The text is written in a way that young children can understand and appreciate the heavenly explanations. The illustrations are beautiful and perfectly enhance the story. I'll be sending copies to my nieces and nephews so that they can read it to their young children.
This beautifully illustrated and perfectly worded children's book will delight grownup readers and soothe the souls of young ones as they contemplate the scariness of thunderstorms. With wit and wisdom, the authors and the illustrator provide an alternate view of stormy weather. This is a story that will be asked to be read over and over again. Because it is short and intricately illustrated, it is a lasting pleasure!
It's the 21st century tech version of angel's bowling and making strikes. (At least that is what I was told back in the day.) So sweet! My 5year old grandson will love this story!
Such a darling story to help young children dispel their fears of loud thunderstorms and instead, picture the angels in heaven having dance parties, posing for photos at a selfie station, telling jokes, and running guardian angel races. Children and parents alike (as well as grandparents, too!) will enjoy this creatively illustrated, fun storybook. Along with the story, the pictures each have a hidden item to be found to keep younger listeners fully engaged. This is a favorite in our family and I look forward to giving it as a gift to other families with young children.
This is such an adorable children's story - probably the best ages to enjoy this book would be from 2-7 years old. It's a precious story about what goes on in heaven during a thunderstorm. Whimsical artwork, with such detail on every page...even a little hidden blue bird on every page. It will surely be a favorite story for years to come for our family. I love the way the detailed drawings are on one side of the page and the words on the other - even the text is beautiful! Well done! I highly recommend it to anyone with littles or grandkids - this would also make a great baby shower gift.
